How to Reduplicate Adjectives in Chinese

One fun feature in Chinese is to repulicate certain words. The purpose of reduplication is to enhance the feeling of words and soften the tone.

Now we will learn how to reduplicate adjectives. For one-syllable adjectives, you simply need to repeat the word double the one-syllable adjectives. The only tricky part about this pattern is that not all adjectives can be reduplicated.😅

However, most of the adjectives you can use are related to physical features, such as colors, sizes, shapes.

Zhège píngguǒ tiántiánde, Nǐ yào bù yào shì yī shì.

这个苹果甜甜的，你要不要试一试?

This apple is sweet, do you want to give it a try?

Zhège nǚshēng yǒu chángcháng de tóufà, wǒ těbié xǐhuān .

这个女生有长长的头发，我特别喜欢。
