To Do Something More or Less With “多/少+Verb”
To express the idea of doing something “more” or “less,” one places 多 (duō) or 少 (shǎo) before the verb. This structure is often used in commands or suggestions.
少shǎo/多duō + Verb
duō chī yīdiǎn ròu,chīròu huì ràng nǐ gèng qiángzhuàng.
多吃一点肉,吃肉会让你更强壮。
Eat more meat!Eating meat will make you stronger.
duō gěi tā yīdiǎn shíjiān,tā huì xiǎng qīngchǔ de.
多给他一点时间,他会想清楚的。
Give him a little more time, he will figure it out.
shǎo fàng yīdiǎn yán ba!wǒ bù xǐhuān chī tài xián de cài.
少放一点盐吧!我不喜欢吃太咸的菜。
Add a little less salt! I don't like to eat dishes that are too salty.
