Expressing "No Matter " With 不管

不管bùguǎn  is a Chinese phrase that means "regardless of" or "no matter." We can use it with 都dōu  in the second part of the sentence to emphasize the action or decision will not change.

不管bùguǎn + Subj. + Verb or Adj + 不bù/没méi + Verb or Adj +(Obj),Subj. + 都dōu ⋯⋯

Bùguǎnxǐhuān, wǒ dōu yào zhàogù nǐ.

不管喜欢,我要照顾你。

No matter you like it or not, I will take care of you. 

 

Bùguǎn tā yǒu méi yǒu jīngyàn, wǒ dōu yuànyì gēn tā yīqǐ gōngzuò.

不管经验,我愿意跟他一起工作。

No matter he has experiences or not, I am willing to work with him.

 

Bùguǎn tiānqì , Evan dōu huì qù wàimiàn zǒulù.

不管天气,Evan会去外面走路。

No matter the weather is hot or not, Evan will go out and walk.

 

不管bùguǎn + 是shì + Option A + 还是háishì + Option B ,Subj. + 都dōu ⋯⋯

Bùguǎn shì hóngchá háishì lǜchá, wǒ dōu xǐhuān.

不管红茶还是绿茶,我喜欢。

No matter if it's black tea or green tea, I like both of them. 

 

Bùguǎn shì zhùzài niǔyuē háishì xīyǎtú, shēnghuófèi dōu hěn guì.

不管是住在纽约还是西雅图,生活费很贵。

Whether living in New York or Seattle, the cost of living expenses is very high.
